I’ve been working on a total overhaul of one of my earliest and best-selling patterns: the topsy turvy doll. I first published this pattern in the summer of 2012. I love topsy turvy dolls and my kids do, too. The wonderful surprise when you flip her over and pull down her skirt…
…and there’s someone else under there! In this case, that someone is a bit of an evil twin.
Over the years I’ve improved my skills at creating a pattern document that will be easy to use and a pleasure to sew from. It was time to give the topsy turvy doll pattern an overhaul and I’m so happy with it now!
This was the perfect excuse to buy some Cotton+Steel. I so rarely buy quilting cottons and never have fabrics from newly released collections. This was a true treat! I really had fun sewing with new, on-trend fabrics.
In celebration of the updates and rerelease, this pattern is on sale now through Wednesday, October 1. Save $2 off the cover price. Get it here, then choose some gorgeous fabrics and make some dolls that will delight the kids in your life. If you already have this pattern, send me proof of purchase and I’ll send you the fresh copy.
Thank you!

Hi Abby-
I am a book editor and I am interested in your designing some soft sculpture designs for us. Can you contact me at the above e-mail address?
Thanks

A year ago, I found your book on making stuffed animals in my random perusings at the library. I’ve got four kids under four, and never actually got to make a single stuffed ANYTHING from your book, but I read it from cover to cover, and renewed it as many times as I could until the library wanted it back. It went on my list of books my husband could buy me, should he need to give me a gift. Today, as I planned Christmas gifts for my little boy, I went searching the internet for your baseball head pattern, and discovered your blog. I couldn’t be happier! You are amazing. The end.
