Much pattern drafting. Many a gusset and many a dart. A wire armature through the neck and some fishing weights in the body.
And a swan.
My endurance is building. It took me a week of steady work to make this. It feels good to take a long time to make something. Plus I was listening to Treasure Island, another of those classic books that I had never read. Shiver me timbers.

I know you posted this a few weeks ago but I just had to tell you how beautiful your swan is.
Elegant and serene and so, so lovely.
All the other birds are really fantastic too by the way but swannie takes my breath away.
i really love this swan. it has a different feel, a different personality from so many of your other birds. i particularly like the feathers and the stitching, especially the loose threads at the ends.
