scary seal

Okay, I made this seal and he is so scary. Charlie says the seal is crying, “Kill me now! Every moment I’m alive is agony!” and I have to agree with him. I think this will be the last creature I make from my book from the late 80’s “Toys for Kids.” They are just not the best patterns. I am also experimenting with making fabric postcards. I made one today and hope to make a few more to post.

My garden is starting to bloom. All of the flowers in the garden are orange. I decided to do a monochrome garden and see how it turned out. Here is the first blanket flower bloom and some lantana.

The torch lillies have little buds on them so they should pop out any day now. Actually so do the zinnias and the calendulas. The garden bed still looks sparse – the directions on for the seedling say to space them out (between 10″ and 24″ depending on the plant), but it makes the garden look sort of empty. I’m still not totally convinced it is all going to fill in by the end of the summer.

Roxy’s new nap schedule is coming along. She made it to noon today before zonking out. Now my days are divided into three parts (morning, nap, afternoon) instead of five. It’s pretty good.
