Purple Elephant

April 24, 2006

I made this soft purple elephant for my friend Lynne’s baby girl. I just love this fabric – it is a short pile super soft fur. I had a yellow piece a while back, sent to me by my BackTack II partner, and this purple piece is from Maitreya from my prints for solids swap. I’ve never seen this type of fabric for sale anywhere, though. It is lovely for baby gifts.

And a side view.

The floral fabric is from a fat quarter I bought recently in a buy two get one free sale. I find those irresistable.

that is the most adorable elephant i have seen! does it have a name? i’ve also never seen that type of fabric for sale anywhere. usually, the fur fabric i see in stores have longer hair. the fabric you used reminds me of chenille almost.
