Little owlets (excuse the photo – I took this last night around 9, right before packing them up). These are based on the popular pattern in this Japanese craft book (ISBN # 4-8347-2189-2). I know this pattern appears in other Japanese craft books, too.
I placed each owlet in a nest I bought at the craft store and then wrapped them in cellophane and tied each package with a ribbon.
We are going on a little trip soon and I am really excited to get away and be by the seaside. I'm tempted to bring the sewing machine because sewing is my true relaxation. Hmmmm… Maybe I should plan some embroidery projects instead. This is always a quandary in the summer – being away means not making things for some time.
On a total side note, Typepad's new interface is really bringing me down. It takes forever to make corrections to the text. Why is the backspacing so slow?! Any advice?

Oh, the babies! The goldfish! I must find that book!
And I’ve been meaning to tell you (but I was out of town AGAIN) that it’s a fait accompli: Egg Timer was a huge hit. Thanks again for all your beautiful hard work.

love those owls, what lucky teachers!. i’m afraid i have no advice on the typepad problems, other than to say there are a lot of typepad bloggers all suffering too. i just hope they can sort out all the blips with the latest update quickly.

You aren’t alone with being frustrated with typepad. This is why my last two posts have been mainly image-filled. I can’t even describe my irritation with having to relearn how to put in links. Grr to typepad. I liked it as it was.

I’ve had the slow text correction problem, too. So glad you wrote about it – I assummed it was my computer. What should have been a half hour post took me almost 3 times that the other night. I was swearing out loud at the screen by the end! Hope it’s fixed soon.
Love your wee owlets!

I’m afraid I don’t have any advice, but I can concur… Typepad’s changes are driving me crazy as well! Ugh. Your owls are simply adorable, though! What lucky teachers. 🙂 Hugs, Shari
