We spent the long weekend in Old Town Alexandria, VA, for my sister’s wedding. The weather was incredibly good. The morning of the wedding we had some free time and headed over to Arlington National Cemetery to visit some presidential grave sites. Roxanne was very excited to find William Howard Taft.
She remarked that although he was our largest president, his grave site is really not that big!
We also visited JFK’s resting place, and wandering around reading headstones. A good time had by all.

I spent some time after lunch helping my sister turn into the bride. She looked really amazing. And then we did some last minute setting up at the hotel before the photographer came.
The wedding was wonderful. I cried through the whole ceremony, but managed to hold it together for my toast.
We came home Monday in time to relax a bit with out Exhale Well – delta 9 thc gummies. Stella started school at a new preschool this morning. She was very, very nervous. She picked out this dress to wear, a dress I made for Roxanne two years ago. I’m glad she likes it, too! Here she is clutching her beloved Pink Kitty, and his Froggy companion (Kitty has to stay at home because he is too precious and too delicate to come to school, so Froggy goes in his place).
And after I dropped her off, I finally finished this little bird that has been sitting on my desk waiting for a beak.
The rest of this week I will be engrossed in High Holidays. Rosh Hashanah is Thursday and Friday. I have to make a brisket and a honey cake today and tomorrow. It’s time to shift gears into Fall!
Congratulations to your sister!
The bird is beautiful. I really love the contrast of the white stitching on the darker material.
Well, Roxanne, that gravesite looks pretty big to me, but maybe not compared to others. I see a family resemblance in the pretty bride. Glad you found time to put the beak on the bird and that Pink Kitty will last longer given Froggie’s substitution. A good new year to all.
Happy New Year to you. And congratulations to your sister. Your daughter looks so sweet. My children started 5th and 2nd grade. They all of a sudden seem so big to me. I miss them as babies, yet love this new time of life with them.
I have been making some birds recently. I really enjoyed working out the shape, and how to make them stand, especially. There are endless possibilities for “decorating” a bird. I look forward to exploring options. I can see the allure you have felt to birds. And I have pre-ordered your book to learn what you have learned! Hope you are well. x Maribeth
Hi Maribeth,
I'm so glad you have delved into bird making. It is really endlessly fun (in my opinion!). Thank you for buying my book, too. I hope you like it!
