June Bug

June 16, 2005

I finished my submission for Month of Softies. This month’s theme is June Bug. I made this bug from an original design. His legs are posable and are made from cotton calico (thanks again Bertha!) and his body and stinger are wool felt. He has little wool felt wings on his back. I debated adding some pincers, but they were making him look lobster-esque. Does he need some antennae?

OMG, how cute is that??! I too vote for antennae! There is nothing that can’t be benefited by the addition of antennae.

Oh, very cute! I guess I’m ambivalent about the antennae… Did you insert wire to make the legs posable? Does it go all the way through the body, or is it just in each leg? (In case you can’t tell, I’ve been toying around with making something posable, but just in my head, so I’m looking for tips from those more experienced than me!)

Oh, he is just too cute! I’m intrigued by the addition of antennae. How were you planning on doing it?
