Yesterday I was in the mood to create something colorful. I looked through my file of old patterns and decided to revisit one I hadn't made in several years – the turtle. Although I originally made these turtles with quilting cotton, looking at the pattern again I thought I would give it a try in wool felt.
And, of course, he needed a birthday hat with a little felted ball on top, and lots of embelishment with felt flowers and polka dots. Maybe the hat needs a ribbon to tie it under his chin?
I'm glad I went back and tried this pattern again.
Old or new felt or calico, your designs are always delightful. I really enjoy visitng your blog.
Love your birthday turtle! The wool felt suits him to a T. Such sweet eyes and charming embellishments. Beautiful!
So adorable!!
Very cute!
Yes, yes–a chin ribbon!
Sweet. I think it is a great idea to try the same pattern in differing fabrics. The look can change dramatically. Glad to see you so busy as you near the end of your pregnancy. I remember feeling pretty ambitious with my late pregnancies as well. Then, when the baby was born, I really relaxed and took the time out I needed.
I love your turtle! He is so cute. I think a ribbon for the hat would be adorable.
I can’t wait for that book to learn how you get these out so fast!!
Some turtle!
he is adorable.
best to you in the coming days, weeks….
I would love to have th pattern for the
adorable little turtle. My little Grand daughters
would love it.
I have not written up this turtle pattern yet. I'm glad you like it, though! I may have the actual turtle for sale in my Etsy shop in a few weeks.
