Cozy

April 20, 2006

Dscn0006_15

Yesterday I made this felt cozy for a tissue box. I really enjoyed the applique and the hand embroidery on this project – the tedious parts of sewing make me happy right now. I think this cozy might look nice in Roxy’s room (which is done in yellows and oranges).

I had another doctor’s appointment yesterday. Still 1 cm. The baby is due the day after tomorrow. He said her head is low, “but not that low.” Hmmm… I’m going in again on Monday when we’ll have to decide whether to wait it out another week or to have a scheduled induction on Tuesday. I’m so undecided. I was induced with Roxanne 16 days early because I was developing preeclampsia. The labor went well, 12 hours. But this may be my last pregnancy and maybe I should try to experience going into labor naturally. At the same time, I’m super uncomfortable at this point. It’s so hard to get around. And if I know when I’m going to go into labor I can better prepare Roxanne and get her comfortable with Mimi (Charlie’s mom) before I go away for three days. But that feels so selfish to force this little girl out into the world because it is convenient for me. I guess I’m leaning toward waiting to see what happens on its own.

    The tissue cozy is great!
I went late with my first and to the due date with my second! The good news is that the day before my water broke with both I was just 1 cm and the doc thought that nothing would happen soon. So, you never know!

Just wanted to say good luck to you on the soon to arrive wee one! Both my girls were late and induced which was fine. They do arrive sooner or later!
I get a great deal of inspiration for your work! 🙂

I love the tissue holder — especially the little bird.
I feel for you waiting and waiting. With Mia, I was 4 cm and 50% effaced for over a month. Then had to be induced on her due date because of problems caused by low amniotic fluid. Things turned out ok (great, actually), but I do wish I could have gone into the final stages of labor naturally. I’ll be thinking of you!

Very nice work with the tissue holder.
Blegh this is the part that REALLY sucks, huh? But like everyone says- you just never ever ever know. My doctor swore my son would come early and he didn’t. And I’ve heard of lots of girls who have no signs of anything doing and then ta-da! Baby time! Best of luck to you.

well put a bird on anything and I’m gonna love it! Besides being partial to the bird, it really is so cute!

Sending good vibes for you and the baby! I just had my little guy on April 3rd and I thought it would never end either. One day after his due date, but 2 weeks of 3cm, 90% effaced, and +1!
Sure hope to see pictures after the angel gets here!
