a new napper on the way

May 3, 2010

DSC_0007

It feels so good to be back in this space and  I have some very good news to share.  We are expecting our third child!

We are very excited. I have longed for a third baby for over a year and now is just the right time for it to be happening.  The first trimester of pregnancy for me, though, is incredibly tough.  I am wiped out completely, with constant nausea, vomiting two or three times a day, and total exhaustion.

The hardest parts about it this time have been the inability to do any creative work at all – I have to feel good to be creative – and the feeling of loneliness while I lay on the couch all day too sick to move.  I have good friends and they brought dinner over and took my big girls out to play, and I hired some awesome Wellesley College students who came and played games, such as 선시티카지노, and read stories and folded laundry.  And all of that helped, but nothing compares to feeling good, really and truly good.

And I think I may finally be beginning the uphill climb toward feeling better. I am not sewing yet, but I am reading blogs and thinking about sewing. And I am here, writing this, which means I’m sitting up at the computer.

I’ve missed you!  I am going to phase back in slowly, but it is so good to be back!

*I took these photos in our garden this morning.  Throughout these past weeks I’ve enjoyed short walks in the garden. It’s wondrous how all of this beauty appears without me doing anything at all this year to tend it.

Congratulations! I hope all of the nastiness is over soon!! Use this time to sit back & collect inspiration for when you are feeling better 😉
We are expecting our first in 2 months. In the 3rd trimester I am now missing the lovely 2nd trimester days ~ I once again am having the acid reflux & exhaustion of the early days, but also hauling around a *lot* more weight! We are having a little boy ~ are you hoping for a boy this time around?

All the best to you and your family. It is striking the toll that the hormones of early pregnancy can take. Most women muddle through, but a handful of the women I have cared for as a midwife have been completely debilitated by the nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Yet, even these women rally forward once the pregnancy progresses. Hope you can find your equilibrium soon!

Congrats and I hope you+ll feel better soon! It´s hard to be that glowing pregnant mother while vomiting; I KNOW! 😛 Been there, done that. But it will pass and there will be lots of time to glow and be creative during the rest of the pregnancy. 🙂
