It had been a while since I made something that wasn't for a show or a workshop or a book, something just for fun. I wanted to try the stalking leopard pattern as a lion. I shrunk the pattern down 85% and made it in wool felt. And added the mane, of course.
He is in my shop now.
Roxanne's 7th birthday party is tomorrow. I made her an ice cream cake this morning as requested. Orange sherbet, crushed oreos, whipped cream frosting and nonpareils. This is the third year that she has requested the same cake.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

What an odd cake combo! But it sounds tasty ~ I would love a recipe 😉

You know, the adult version of her cake is a Philadelphia cream cheesecake flavored with grated orange peel and Grand Marnier over a chocolate wafer crust.
Sometime, would you do a discussion/tutorial on your wonderful faces? I always admire the way you make eyes on your characters without using ready-made or safety eyes.

I love your adult version of her cake! That’s awesome.
I agree that making the face is the most important, and most challenging, part of making a soft toy. Certainly a great topic for an Elements of Soft Toy Design post (or several)!

My little master 5 asks for the same train cake year after year. We always manage to talk him into something different! At least you’ll have mastered the recipe!!

Super cute lion! Love the movement in his legs, the furry mane, and the expression on his face!
