curtain owl

September 26, 2008

About a month ago I bought this vintage (1970's?) curtain panel on eBay.

A bit of a late night impulse buy, I must say.  But I liked its funky pattern and neutral colors.  And finally it has become something – a new owl.

This is the last in the latest little series for artstream and will be shipped off tomorrow.  All three birds should be up in their lovely online shop sometime over the next few weeks.

We are looking at a rainy weekend here in Boston. I'm thinking we may visit the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, a local contemporary art museum that we have never been to.

I'm excited to begin my October projects.  I will be making a bird for a swap with Lisa Solomon.  We arranged this over the summer when we met and I'm very excited to exchange art with her. And I will be making a small series of birds for Art Star in Philadelphia.  And I'm still thinking about and experimenting with techniques from The Art of Manipulating Fabric.  Exciting stuff in there!
