Olivia the Octopus Softie Pattern

March 26, 2012

Octopus Plush

The idea of making an octopus crossed my mind on Saturday and I quickly became totally obsessed. Once I start down a softie-making road, there is no turning back! And so today I have a new pattern in my Craftsy pattern store!  A fleece octopus that is fun to sew and fun to hug!

I've heard from several people that the idea of stitching, turning, and stuffing eight long legs is really intimidating. In this pattern I show you a neat trick that makes it fast and easy! And you can sell the octopuses you make from this pattern! I hope you'll give it a go. You can purchase the pattern right here.

I couldn't help it, I had to dress this guy as a pirate!

Love the movement of the octopus legs! And I had to comment on your little cutie – so much hair! How old is she now?

Thank you! I made three different leg templates so that his legs have variety and look like they are moving. Josephine is 15 months! Such a happy girl.

Well, this is really embarrassing — I tried to make Olivia and made a mess of it so put the pattern away to try again later – which is now — and I can’t find it. So I went back to the computer to print it out again and I can’t find it there either. May I ask you to send it to me again? I would be glad to pay for it again if necessary as I have gotten new flece to make it with and I am all ready to go –and no pattern.

I tried to go to your store and buy pattern but it looks like the link is bad or something. How much is pattern? I am trying to find an octopus pattern to give to kids in hospital so if you would donate pattern that would be amazing.
