36

August 3, 2011

IMG
This is me, the summer of 1979, just before my 4th birthday.

Today is my 36th birthday. Roxanne and Stella marched down the stairs this morning holding a homemade banner atop two wooden skewers (They originally taped the skewers on upside down and I was called in yesterday to fix it without looking, which I managed to do. Also yestereday there was a dress rehearsal in which the banner was held up and they came dramatically down the stairs singing happy birthday, so I got a little preveiw of today's festivities).

I plan to spend the day sewing and Charlie is taking me out to Oleana for dinner. The weather is amazing today. This morning I opened a gift of two bottles of real marachino cherries – my dream come true. I seriously love maraschino cherries and I can polish off a whole jar of the bright red ones from the grocery store in an hour or so, but the real ones…they're amazing. And I think a package containing a video camera may be on its way here. Very exciting! I would like to make some video tutorials about making softies and now I'll be able to. Hooray!

It's a good day.

A good birthday plan! I haven’t recovered from my last birthday…the excess!! Just sent the kids off to their new environment this morning. Should be a different life for all.

happy birthday! I’m so sorry to be late, I’ve been at the shore and just getting home. Hope your day was fantastic! Was your present a day of stitching? That is the perfect gift as far as I’m concerned.
