Random assortment of things going on in my life, as usual. First, I was alerted last night that my owl is in this spread from the Spring issue of Small Magazine. I think I mentioned in my last post that I got an iPhone last week. One of the (many) transformative aspects of this new…

goldfish
I made a felt goldfish. I added some little orange seed beads to give him some sparkle, along with an iridescent tail. Certain patterns I've made just really work well and this is one of them. I know it's a good one when I keep coming back to make more. I love the big, bulging…

Last week was February vacation. We spent three days with Charlie's parents in Connecticut and the rest of the week at home. New wrens in the shop this morning.

Yesterday… and today. I'm spending my morning sewing wings. This trio is making me think about Spring. —- The photo shoot for my book is today and there will be another shoot tomorrow. My birds are in Colorado without me. I hope they are well-behaved for the camera.
Roar!
Earlier this week I set about making a second lion. I cut and sewed the body from cream-colored wool felt. Then I cut open a failed fox and harvested his stuffing. I stuffed the lion firmly, leaving a the fox empty. Poor foxy. I closed the opening and stood him up. His friend was there,…

We've been folding paper planes from silver paper. And attaching little messages. 22 in total. Valentines for the Kindergarten class.
