Hi there. We are buried under nearly a foot and a half of snow here in Wellesley. It started on Friday afternoon and pretty much didn't stop until Sunday late at night. Sunday afternoon Roxanne and I built the hugest snowman ever. Really. I could barely lift his head.
Speaking of not being able to lift your head, we are also recovering from the stomach flu. Each of us, starting with Stella and ending with Charlie, was struck down for 24 hours at some point during the week and the mountain of laundry it left in its wake was truly astounding.
On the upside, we spent lots of time inside, preparing for Hanukkah and just relaxing. We baked and decorated sugar cookies. Roxanne had the brilliant idea to use the gingerbread man cookie cutter to make Judah Macabee with little silver sprinkles as armor.
We spent some time outside, wading through the snow and sledding around the neighborhood admiring everyone else's Christmas lights at night.
(Notice Roxanne's mittens? Do you recognize those? Freaky Freezies! Yep, they change color in the cold. These are brand new and the graphics haven't changed one bit in what, 20 years!)
And I finished the second in the series of three tall birds for the show in March.
That is 10 birds completed and at least six more to go. I have all kinds of other ideas to add if I complete all 16 earlier than expected. And I'm going to get cards printed – five of the best bird photos with envelopes. These will be for sale through Young Blood at the opening and possibly in my shop at the same time.

Happy Hanukkah and I hope you’re all fully recovered enough to eat latkes and doughnuts!
