I was inspried by the new loop feathers idea to make a chicken. Whenever we go to Drumlin Farm I always admire the fluffy, feathery top hat chickens in their hen house.
I really like the open beak on this bird. I'm hoping to do some more with open beaks. It seems to me that they are really alive when their beaks are in action.
We had a delightful afternoon yesterday picking strawberries at our CSA farm. Stella was totally covered with dripping strawberry juice, eating them right in the field. We got there after a torrential summer rainstorm and it was so beautiful and peaceful at the farm.
Today we are going to Morses Pond for some swimming, some sandcastle building, and some hoping for the jingle of the ice cream truck.

those tweed feet are pretty fantastic. you should give a class on making bird feet–you’ve got it down to a science.

WONDERFUL. Great color choices and I like the open beak too. This looks like a really classic piece but still funky and modern. Love it.
