A newly hatched chick! So much fun to make. She is up in the shop right now.
This afternoon is devoted to making Purim costumes. I’ve got one Queen Esther and one Vashti and yards and yards of sparkly purple and gold fabric. It should be a fun afternoon sewing with mommy!

Cute…. I need to take a picture of the fledgling hummingbirds that are in my friend’s garden.
I can’t look at a bird without thinking about you and how it would look ABBY-tized.

I found your blog after buying the book “Softies”. Love this chick – the detail on the legs especially is so true to life.

wow, you do Purim “old school”! even when i was a kid in Israel in the 80s Queen Esther was kind of old fashioned. not a clue what they dress up as whatever’s on TV. that’s so sad…
i actually was Esther one year. my grandma always made our costumes. we even made one together one year, when i was “swan lake” (my idea), she made the ballerina skirt and i cut and painted little swans that i hung on it. i was also a Patriot missile one year, during the gulf war. oh, good times…
