I completed the fifth in my series of birds.
My studio is in our bedroom and this flock is perched near Charlie’s side of the bed. He says he feels like they have all flown down to roost near him.
I think I’ll make a few other things now and come back to birds in a little while.
A few people have contacted me about Amy dolls they’ve made. This one by is so great. Here is what she told me about her: " I made her over 20 years ago, at school, going through a ‘difficult’ phase. She is dressed the way I wanted to be at the time! I can still remember hand stenciling that t-shirt at school. Oh, all that teenage angst!"
And finally today, I have a question for those of you who have Etsy shops. I am going to need to upload 50+ pieces into my shop all at once. Do you know if it is possible to pre-load all the listings and then have them all go live at the same time? I would be so grateful if you would email me if you know.

The birds are just awesome – love that pic of all of them together. And I could be wrong but as far as I know Etsy only allows uploading of items one at a time. You could try posting the question up in their forums for some advice or contact the Etsy Support directly to get a clear answer.

What a gaggle of birdies! Can you imagine the noise they’d could all make. Yak yak yak.

Sorry, I don’t know a lick about etsy – other than it is a GREAT place to spend 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
My favorite bird is the 4th from the left. Looking up – sort of like, “Um … you guys … the sky is falling.”

I don’t think there is any way to do that on Etsy. The closest thing you could do would be to list one, and quickly suspend the listing. Then re-activate all of the listings at once. The only problem would be that the start times would remain the same as when you listed them, they wouldn’t all pop up at the top of the listings.

Well and truly nailed that design, didn’t you?
I’m fascinated by the leg contstruction…

Hello! I love these birds, they’re perfect.
The easiest way I know to do that with etsy is to open each thing in a different tab or window and complete each one to step 5 (or the last step, if it’s not 5) and then just go through and post them all like that. It’s a bit annoying, but if you use firefox and can have tabs instead of windows, it’s less so.
Hope that helps.

I can’t add much to the etsy conversation that hasn’t been said, but I do think that you pose an excellent question, and I think that you should post on the etsy conversation boards about this, too. I wonder if they could make some changes to accomodate this preference. I’m sure lots of other “shop owners” would like to post all at once, too. I have to say, that last photo of all of the birds together is just gorgeous. What a beautiful set you’ve made.

Lovely flock. When I make the legs for my felted birds I use plasticene to shape the nobbly knees, then add the fabric or fibre over it.

I love your birds, especially when they are all in a group together like that, they look really like they could be real. Your work is fantastic!
