Okay, I toyed (pardon the expression) with my latest doll pattern and here are the results.
While sketching new faces with more awake eyes I accidentally made the hair bigger
and I thought that was cool so here is one variation. She is resting on a lovely canvas painted by local artist Brigid McCabe. Gives me some ideas about what the canvas should look like if I ever get around to painting and sewing a doll to a canvas.
and a detail of the embroidery. I wanted her to have big thighs and no arms and be sort of 70’s (as opposed to the 20’s look of the original doll)
I also tried one with longer limbs and high heeled boots. I like the boots and that’s about it.
I have signed up for a booth at the Wellesley Mother’s Forum Holiday Marketplace again this year. It takes place the first week of November, on a Thursday evening. I feel like I can only do one craft fair a year because, as many of you who do these things know, it is a tremendous amount of work to get ready for selling at a fair. Last year I had a good time and sold a good amount despite the fact that I had some serious morning sickness the six weeks prior to the event. This year I am feeling good so I’m starting to prepare early. My shop is now empty as I sort through things. And I made some of the ever popular tissue holders because I think they are so pretty and will sell well.
Okay, we’re off to Puddlestompers Nature Class now, aka TantrumandStomping time.

I love these! The shot of the boots reminds me of the scene in the Wizard of Oz where right after the house drops on the Wicked Witch of the East, they show her feet and ruby slippers sticking out from underneath…too funny!
