My mom and dad are coming in from Maryland today for Stella’s Hebrew baby naming on Saturday. We thought of cancelling it because my mom is sitting shiva for grandma, but she and my dad still wanted to come so we are going ahead with it. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, but perhaps I’ll get some time to sew while Roxy spends time with grandparents. Stella slept from 6:00 pm – 6:00 am last night, for the second time. Yeah for sleep training! I’m feeling nice and rested.

dangerous to leave sock monkey sitting so close to bananas! they’ll be gone before you know it! 🙂
carla says
Nah – only if they are sock bananas. 🙂
Abby, I haven’t had a chance to say sorry about your Gramma – we’re thinking of you.

So sorry to hear about your grandma. I hope your family are dealing with it okay. It does take time, but it sounds like your family are very close and that helps. By the way Blue Sock Monkey is absolutely so cute. At least you get to eat bananas, here they are $12.00 a kilo, so we will wait until the price is reduced I think.

Hi!
Sorry about your grandmother. Only time will help and good memories will prevail…
I really love your blue monkey!!! And the sock bananas are a really good idea to complete the monkey!!!
Keep on the good work,
manela

That monkey has the cutest face!
I really like how his nose is more flat, doesn’t stick out as much as the ones made from the traditional socks. I’ve only made those before, I’ll have to grab some cute socks like these. (Although I was sad to see the green striped pair get chopped!)

I love the monkey – such a beautiful placid looking guy.
So sorry to hear about your Grandma (I have to admit I did not know what ‘sitting Shiva’ meant so I have googled and educated myself) – my thoughts are with you.

you wanna hear something funny? when I saw the bananas I was like “how could anybody let them go so brown” you see here in Australia, due to bad weather we have lost our banana crops so they are like $12 a kilo! precious! I feel sooo posh buying them these days! best wishes
