Wow. That sort of seemed like a birth story. But alas, here I am
still prego at Passover and still one centimeter dilated as of yesterday afternoon. This baby is due a week from tomorrow. I’m getting a bit impatient. In fact, I’m starting to think that maybe she’s waiting for me to finish sewing the bumper. If you sew it, she will come…
We had a lovely seder with our good friends Carla and David on Wednesday evening. Roxanne is thoroughly into the Passover symbols. We got her this great wooden Passover set (we have the Shabbat set, too). She can’t get enough of it.
Meanwhile sewing is what’s keeping me happy, especially the little details, the handsewn parts. Here is a view of the bottom of the owlet.
Thanks to this great tutorial on using freezer paper to do applique I was able to finish this owlet off the way it should be – with a tiny handsewn circle that is neat and tidy. Freezer paper is such marvelous stuff. I use it for all my patterns and now for applique.
It’s beautiful here and Charlie is coming home early today. I am trying to think ahead and book a little vacation for us for the end of June. My daffodils are blooming and I have two lovley pots of pansies on the front porch. A perfect time for baby girl to be born. Any time now. Seriously. Right now.

your owl and owlette are so precious! i was at the computer eating a bowl of cereal (dry)reading your blog and gasped at the cuteness of the little one in the bag! hope you have a nice easter, and baby will be here soon enough – sounds like you have some *nesting* to do….

Your owls are wonderful. I’m perpetually awed by such careful handstitching where everything comes out *exactly how it should*!

I’m glad you had such a nice passover! Wonderful job on the owls. Freezer paper is a big thing these days. 🙂 I like your reasoning, “If you sew it she will come.” Good luck!!

I love the owls. So sweet! Every time I read one of your posts about the bumper I laugh. Mia was about nine months old before her bumper was finished… just in time for her not to really need it anymore. She’s now 19 months old and still has the bumper. I can’t bring myself to take it off — and she doesn’t climb on it or anything, so I guess it’s ok.

I Love the owls, and what an adorable passover play set. I wont be having kids for a looooong while but I just might have to get a set. Have you ever ordered the bag of plagues? http://www.jcolstore.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?CMD=DETAIL&LOC=172014&IDX=0&PROD=5935
It was a huuuge hit at our passover. Especially the Moses and Pharoah puppets.
